# Explore usage

Break spend down by space, project, user, model or provider, compare periods, and see a month-end projection.

## Before you begin

- You need the Owner, Admin, Account Manager or Auditor role, or you manage a space.
- Space managers without organisation-wide access see Explore limited to the spaces they manage and the spaces beneath them. Anything outside that scope behaves as if it doesn't exist.

## Explore your spend

1. In the sidebar, open **Statistics** > **Explore**. From a space page, **View in Explore** opens Explore focused on that space. The ranking rows on **Overview** open it pre-filtered.
2. Set the period with the time-range picker. The default is the current month.
3. Choose a branch in the builder: **Overview**, **Spaces** or **Projects**. Spaces and projects are kept separate, so space figures never include project traffic.
4. Pick the level to break down by, for example users or models. Explore offers only levels below the current focus.
5. Choose a metric tab. Organisations see **Cost**, **Through ATLAS**, **Your own AI subscriptions** and **Requests**.
6. Sort by selecting a column header. Use **Columns** to show optional columns such as the change column.
7. To compare periods, open **Options**, choose **Compare with another month**, and set **Compared with**. The comparison needs a window of exactly one calendar month.
8. To see the trend, turn on **Cumulative chart** in **Options**. The current month shows "Projected: €X by <date>" once there are at least seven days of history.
9. Select a row to drill in. Use **Show all (N)** on ranked cards to see beyond the top entries.

**Result:** a sortable table with totals, optional values for the previous period, and a chart. Provider rows show your own provider connections plus a single **Platform** row for usage of ATLAS-provided models.

## Good to know

- A budget column appears for single-month views without filters. It turns red above 100%.
- A per-month breakdown covers at most 12 months.
